Girl freed after payment of ransom

MANSEHRA, June 21: A four-year-old girl was freed by kidnappers after her family paid them a ransom of Rs500,000 in Oghi area, it was learnt here on Thursday.

Maira was kidnapped on June 8 while playing outside her home in the Oghi area by five armed men. The kidnappers had moved her to the tribal area of Kala Dhaka after the kidnapping and demanded a ransom of Rs500,000 from her father.

On Wednesday, the father of Maira paid the ransom amount to the kidnappers in Dora Mara territory of Kala Dhaka to win his daughter’s freedom.

Oghi police have registered a case against Mir Baz on the complaint of the father of the girl.

Kala Dhaka, being part of the Mansehra district, borders Kohistan, Mansehra, Swat, Haripur and Battagram districts and criminals of these settled areas use this area to enter these districts for their illegal activities.
