PTI leader criticises MQM chief

SWABI, June 21: Asad Qaisar, provincial vice-president, Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI), has said that the “dirty politics of references” can not save the ruling elite and Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Altaf Hussain from the wrath of the people.

He was commenting on disqualification references sent against PTI’s chief Imran Khan to the Election Commission by the National Assembly speaker.

Addressing a meeting of the PTI at Murghuz on Thursday, Mr Qaisar said: “I salute the media people for unveiling the facts regarding what had happened in Karachi on May 12, who directed the massacre from where and who supported the carnage.”

He said that in fact the references were in retaliation against Imran Khan’s move to bring the MQM leader to justice in Britain.

He said it is in the interest of the country to target all those figures who believe in the use of force instead of adopting a peaceful approach towards its people.

He said violence breeds more violence.

He questioned as to why Mr Altaf had been staying in London? “Why he is not facing the law of the land? Why is he indulging in conspiracies against the people of the country?”

District chief organiser Rangaiz Khan said the first point in the PTI’s manifesto is that the judiciary should be independent and once the people get justice they would not experience difficulties.

He said an independence judiciary is the backbone of the whole system “but sorry to say in our country the people have no faith over the judicial system”. He said that the targeting of the Chief Justice had further shattered the people’s confidence.

He said the membership registration would continue for a week, then there would be district election, followed by provincial election and finally the central body of the party would be elected, and added “all these are preparations for the election”.

Meanwhile, it was announced that Mr Qaisar had also been nominated as provincial chairman of the provincial organising committee.
