ISLAMABAD, June 21: The Accountability Court No. 1, Rawalpindi, on Thursday exonerated the former Petroleum and Natural Resources secretary, Syed Naseer Ahmed, along with nine others from charges of irregularities in the Uch Power Project.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had moved three references relating to different contracts — gas gathering, gas dehydration and gas pipeline — in the Uch Power Project.
Earlier, the accountability court had acquitted the accused in references related to the gas gathering and gas dehydration.
These references were filed in 2003 during the tenure of former NAB chairman Lt-Gen (retired) Muneer Hafeez.
