Three flights make emergency landing

NAWABSHAH, June 21: Three domestic flights of PIA made emergency landing at Nawabshah airport on Thursday evening. Karachi-bound flights PK-391, PK-589 and PK-541 coming from Sukkur, Bahawalpur and Moen-Jo-Daro with 116, 31 and 27 passengers respectively, made emergency landing at Nawabshah airport due to inclement weather in Karachi.

It may be mentioned here that Nawabshah airport is used as an alternate to Karachi airport.

Manager PIA Nawabshah, Syed Shoaib Shah, told Dawn that flights would take-off as soon as sky becomes clear in Karachi. The passengers were stranded at Nawabshah airport till the filing of this report.

VISIT: Justice Amir Hani Muslim of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit, paid a surprise visit to the district jail Nawabshah, on Thursday.

He directed the jail administration to provide facilities to the prisoners as per jail manual and warned action in case of failure.
