Published June 22, 2007

NAWABSHAH, June 21: Activists of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz observed a token hunger strike outside the press club on Thursday in protest against the kidnapping of their colleague, Qadir Zardari.

Local JSQM leaders alleged that Mr Zardari was kidnapped by an influential landlord and politician of the area who was also part of the government, because he had raised voice against his illegal activities.

They accused the landlord of harbouring criminals and bandits and demanded that the government and human rights organisations should help secure safe recovery of the kidnappee.
