KARACHI: Algerian delegation

KARACHI, June 21: A 10-member delegation of the Algerian senate, led by Abdelkader Bensalah and Vice President Salem, paid a courtesy call on Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim at the Chief Minster’s House here on Thursday and discussed matters of mutual interests with him.

In his speech, the chief minister said Pakistan and Algeria had been bound by strong fraternal ties and brotherly Islamic relations since the inception of Pakistan. He said that both Algeria and Pakistan were members of the Non-Aligned Movement and the OIC.

The volume of trade between the two countries needed to be raised to improve potential growth in commodities exchanges between the two countries, he said and reiterated that Pakistan, especially Sindh, was blessed with innumerable business opportunities in a number of segments.—PPI
