Two travel agents arrested

ISLAMABAD, June 19: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested two most wanted travel agents, allegedly involved in human smuggling here on Monday, an official source said.

The additional director general FIA, Mirza Yasin, confirmed the arrests of the two travel agents from the Gujranwala district.

The arrests of Zahoor Sunara and Qasir Bao came about after some Pakistani illegal immigrants, who were recently deported from Turkey, revealed the name of their travel agent —Mr Sunara- whom they had paid for going to Europe.

“It is not yet known that how many Pakistani illegal immigrants have been arrested in Turkey,” Mr Yasin said. The ADG said Mr Bao was wanted by the FIA in 20 cases and was facing inquiries, while Mr Sunara was wanted in two cases.

Mr Sunara was captured from Kharian and Mr Bao arrested from Gujrat.

Meanwhile, in a separate move, the FIA’s anti-human smuggling wing raided another the travel agency in Kharian and seized a number of passports, fake stamps and visas, official source said.

The FIA official said during the raid, their team seized 14 passports, fake (visa) stamps of South Africa. The owner of the travel agency escaped from the scene.
