KARACHI, June 19: A special team of the National Accountability Bureau caught red-handed an assistant director/investigation officer, Fazl-i-Hadi, while receiving a bribe on Monday night.

According to a NAB press release issued on Tuesday, Fazl-i-Hadi had demanded a heavy bribe from a complainant for disposing of a case. However, they reached a deal at Rs1 million.

The complainant informed the director-general of the Sindh NAB about it.

The NAB DG constituted a special team and initiated a secret investigation into the matter. The complainant called the IO in the Gulshan-I-Jamal area, near the Millenium Mall, Rashid Minhas Road, where he was caught red-handed in the presence of Magistrate Asim Khan Lodhi.

The suspect was produced before the Accountability Court on Tuesday, which remanded him in police custody for 14 days.—PPI
