KARACHI, June 19: Brisk shipping activity was witnessed at the port where three ships carrying containers and iron ore were accommodated on berths at QICT and Iron Ore and Coal Berth (IOCB), respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.

Meanwhile two more ships to load, unload containers and cement arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy remained moderate at the port where five ships occupied berths to load, unload containers, chemicals, furnace oil and iron ore, respectively, during the report period.

Cargo handling registered an upward trend at the port where a cargo volume of 97,017 tons comprising 77,535 tons of imports and 19,482 tons of exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 2,931 Teus was handled during the period under review.

Three ships sailed out to the sea during the same period.
