Three fall prey to tribal feud

JACOBABAD, June 18: Three people were killed and two women injured over an old enmity in the jurisdiction of A-section police station Kandhkot, on Monday. Twelve armed men of Bhayo community broke into the house of Bakhshal Jakhrani in Naseer Mohalla, Kandhkot in the we hours of Monday.

The intruders opened fire with modern weapons as a result of which a child Bakhtiar 5, his mother Deenaz 35, and grandmother, Salamat Khatoon were killed while two others Nihal Khatoon and Jiman Khatoon were injured who were shifted to the Kandhkot hospital.

Later, the bodies were taken away by the relatives of the deceased to Naseer Mohalla without post-mortem while the injured were admitted.

Bakhshal Jakhrani lodged an FIR against Abdul Jabbar, Noor Mohammad, Khadim Hussain, Moro, Gul Hassan, Ghulam Hussain and Abdul Sattar, all Bhayo by caste, with the police. The enmity so far has claimed 22 lives from both the Jakhranis and Bhayos.

KARO-KARI: Ali Khan Nindwani 30, and Ms Gody Marhato were killed on pretext of karo-kari at RD-109 Sindh-Balochistan border near Kashmore on Monday.

Reports said that Ms Gody was at her home when her husband Raza Mohammad Marhato opened fire with a gun. She died instantly. The accused Raza also opened fire at Ali Khan when he was on his way to home.

STRIKE: A strike was observed in Jacobabad against railway authorities for leasing the tanga stand and girls railway school to private persons.
