KARACHI, June 18: A 30-acre piece of land has been allocated for women entrepreneurs at the Sindh Small Industrial Estate at the Northern Bypass. This was stated by Sindh Minister for Labour, Transport and Industries Mohammad Adil Siddiqui while speaking at the concluding session of the third women international leadership conference at a local hotel.

The minister said that the government recognises importance of women industrialists, and was making efforts to provide facilities to them.

He said that women now have 33 per cent representation in the national and provincial assemblies. In the social security scheme, he pointed out that the number of women workers is more than 60,000.

Adviser to Sindh chief minister Fatima Surriya Bajia and women from various walks of life were also present.

Later, distinguished women in various fields were conferred excellence awards.—APP
