Awards galore for Khurram

KARACHI, June 17: There were awards galore for local hero Khurram Agha for winning glory to the nation in the 23rd Asian Snooker Championship which concluded at a local hotel on Sunday.

The former Pakistan No 1 secured third position as his four compatriots could not go beyond pre-quarter-finals.

In addition to getting cash reward of $600 for securing third position, the PBSA and a local sponsor were quick to announce Rs50,000 apiece. A provincial minister who also graced the occasion announced Rs100,000 cash prize for the cueist.

Another joy was in store for Khurram when chief executive of an insurance firm announced to sponsor him for two years.
