JI leader regrets induction of ‘expelled’ MPA

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, June 17: The Jamaat-i-Islami has regretted the induction of an MPA into the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam’s fold who had been expelled from the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) for voting against the alliance’s candidate in the last Senate election.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, MMA provincial General-Secretary MNA Shabbir Ahmad said that it had been decided to hold inquiries and take actions against the MPAs who had not voted in line with the party’s decision in the Senate election. But he regretted that the provincial Chief Minister and MMA provincial President Gul Naseeb Khan had accepted the MPA from Haripur in the party fold.
