MQM re-opens its Lahore offices

LAHORE, June 17: The Muttahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) started a drive on Sunday to re-open its offices in Punjab which were closed after the May 12 violence in Karachi.

According to a TV report, a ceremony in this regard was held in Data Ganj Bakhsh Town where MQM member and Minister of State Amer Liaquat Hussain was the chief guest.

He told the audience that MQM leader Altaf Hussain did want to return to the country but the Mohajir Rabita Committee had advised him to wait for an appropriate time.
