KARACHI: NIRC stops strikes 4in PTCL


KARACHI, June 17: The National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) has stopped certain groups/people from observing strike, categorically stating that the strike call given by such elements was unlawful.

According to a PTCL release issued here on Saturday, the court order read as “After hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner and after going through the contentions of petition prima facie it seems to be a case of unfair labour practice.

“Respondents 1 to 6 are directed not to do any act or adopt any measure that is attracted by Section 64 ibid inter alia including intimidation, coercion, pressure, threat etc for acceptance of demands.”—PPI
