Nishtar Park bomber’s relatives picked up

By Nisar Ahmad Khan

MANSEHRA, June 16: Three family members of the alleged Nishtar Park suicide bomber, including his mother, were picked up by officials of an intelligence agency here in the Seri Karnashi area, official sources said.

It is learnt that Muhammad Sadiq, the brother of Muhammad Siddiq, the alleged bomber, was picked up from his residence on Friday night. His father and mother were taken into custody on Saturday morning by officials of the agency. It could not be ascertained which agency personnel raided their house.

The Shinkiari police expressed ignorance about the raid, but Nazim of the Union Council Sachan, Shah Khan, confirmed that the personnel of an agency had conducted raids on the residence of Muhammad Siddiq and had taken away his parents and brother and then shifted them to an unknown location.

The Sindh home department on Friday released the picture of Muhammad Siddiq and named him as the suicide bomber who blew himself up on April 11 last year at Karachi’s Nishtar Park, where a congregation of Sunni Tehrik was in progress resulting in the killing of 58 people including its top leadership.
