PESHAWAR, June 16: The Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court, Justice Tariq Parvez Khan, on Saturday took the oath as acting governor of the NWFP at a ceremony held at the Governor’s House.

The senior judge of the Peshawar High Court, Justice Shahjehan Khan, administered the oath.

NWFP Governor Ali Mohammad Khan Aurakzai is on a visit abroad.

Later, the acting governor administered oath to Justice Shahjehan Khan as acting chief justice of the Peshawar High Court.

Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani, judges of the high court, Chief Secretary Sahibzada Riaz Noor, IGP Mohammad Sharif Virk and District Nazim Haji Ghulam Ali attended the ceremony.
