Botched operation by midwife

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 15: A woman was brought in a serious condition to private medical centre here on Friday after being operated upon by a midwife posing as doctor.

Ms Badshahzadi Solangi told reporters that she took her daughter Bashiran at Darbelo for abdomen pain. A midwife Fehmida Mirjat posed as doctor and advised operation of the patient.

She said that during operation intestines of Bashiran popped out of the stomach on which the midwife got panicky. She immediately brought her to a private medical centre of surgeon Dr Paryal Tagar, where the patient again was operated upon. She was now in a critical condition, said Badshahzadi and appealed to higher authorities to look into the matter, hold inquiry and take action against the midwife.
