KARACHI: Rain emergency

KARACHI, June 15: In order to maintain proper drainage facilities in the area in view of the expected monsoon rains, Lyari town nazim Malik Mohammad Fayyaz on Friday declared rain emergency and cancelled leaves of all operational staff.

In this regard, TMO Khursheed Ali chaired a meeting of town officials and directed sanitation staff to ensure their presence during the rainy season.

The town nazim told the meeting that the complaint centre was being activated and people were being advised to lodge their complaints relating to rain on phone number 2511251.

ROAD CARPETING: Nazim Liaquatabad Town, Usama Qadri, on Thursday inspected the carpeting of a model road being constructed in UC-10, Block 1-E and 1-F, Nazimabad.

The carpeting of about 5,400 sq feet of the 80-foot wide road is complete, while its cost is said to be Rs2 million.—PPI
