Film on Daniel Pearl
By Our Correspondnet
NEW YORK: Most journalists invited to a special premiere of Angelina Jolie film "A Mighty Heart" on the kidnapping and death of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl refused to sign an agreement sought by Ms Jolie barring any questions about her personal life.
According to a report in The New York Times, the premiere which was essentially organised for the benefit of Reporters Sans Frontier, a Paris-based journalists organisation, at a New York cinema was marred as Ms Joilie found herself in a strange predicament.
The idea to seek such an unprecedented agreement was the brainchild of Ms Jolie's lawyer Robert Offer.
“This was my creating something to protect her from the press’s talking about personal matters, a document that would limit discussion to the film,” he said. “But it was drafted overly broadly. It was well intended, but I understand how it was received”, Mr Offer said.
The film will be released worldwide on June 22.
