HARIPUR, June 14: A married woman reportedly committed suicide over some family dispute in village Kot Najibullah, some 12km from here, on Wednesday evening.

Taj Mohammad told the police that his wife Asia Bibi, 31, locked herself in a room and hanged herself with a ceiling girder. He said he broke the door open and took her to Kot Najibullah hospital but she died before they reached there.

Taj said they had four children and were living happily. For the last few months, however, she was quite distressed due to frequent tiffs she had with his sister, he said, adding that of late she was pressing for a separate house for themselves.—Correspondent
