KARACHI, June 14: The Anti-Terrorism Court III on Thursday accepted the application of former chief minister of Balochistan Sardar Akhtar Mengal and allowed him to get medical treatment by a private dentist on the jail premises.

It was reported that the accused had submitted an application to the ATC-III, headed by Judge Syed Saghir Hussain Zaidi, that he was suffering from tooth ache and needed treatment.

Mr Mengal was expected to be indicted on Thursday, but the date was adjourned till July 5.

According to the prosecution, a guard, a driver and two other employees of the former chief minister had kidnapped two army personnel on surveillance-cum-intelligence duty on April 5, 2006, and took them to his residence in Karachi. It was stated that the army personnel were manhandled in the presence of Sardar Akhtar Mengal.
