ISLAMABAD, June 14: The Zarai Taraqiati Bank Ltd (ZTBL) has launched its two deposit mobilisation schemes, namely ‘Zarai Bachat Account” and “Zarai Term Deposit Certificates" to facilitate its clientele and provide free of cost ancillary financial services.

The schemes would broaden the bank’s deposit base to strengthen its operational and financial viability, states an official announcement issued here on Thursday.

The bank has offered these deposit schemes to individuals, sole proprietors, partnership firms and limited companies.

The schemes provide that ZTBL depositors maintaining a minimum balance or investment of Rs200,000 for a period of at least six months shall be eligible to get agriculture loan from ZTBL without any loan appraisal fee, provided they are eligible.

Under the "Zarai Bachat Account", the minimum initial deposit of Rs20,000 and same as minimum daily balance will be required to be eligible for a profit up to four per cent per annum. The profit will be paid quarterly on daily product basis.

The facility under ZBA provides free banking services for the entire quarter, two free pay orders / DDs per month up to the amount of average daily balance of the month, free cheque books for depositors provided a depositor maintains a monthly average balance of Rs200,000 or above.

Under the "Zarai Term Deposit Certificates (ZTDC)", an initial amount of Rs25,000 will be required for issuance of these certificates.

The minimum holding period will be three months and profit rate on premature withdrawals will be up to four per cent payable twice in a year.

The free banking services for ZTDC of Rs200,000 or above include free pay orders/DDs and free cheque books.
