KARACHI, June 14: Eight ships including two car carriers with 1,595 cars are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was on the higher side where 10 vessels were berthed. They are: Oel Esteem, Al-Wajba, Hyundai Highway, and Ninis, with containers, Chem Baltic, tanker, Pacific Arrow and Sinai, to load cement, Sea Brilliance, with coal, Al-Mansoura, with phosphate and Afamia, with general cargo.

Six vessels, Hayley Nadhi, APL Yokohama, Y.M.Faha, Al-Wajab, Lalazar and Splendour departed on Thursday, while Hyundai Highway, Evdoxia, Chem Baltic, Islamabad, yzdan and Oel Esteem are due to sail out on Friday.

A total tonnage of 88,810 tons comprising 12,602 tons of export cargo and 76,208 tons of import tonnage was handled at the port.

The following ships are due on Friday: Pacific Highway and Maersk Willow, with 1,051 and 544 cars, respectively, Oel Shreyar, Calvin P Titus, and Emirates Jumeirah, with containers, B.Europe, with coal, Golina to load cement and Pontica, to offload steel.
