Missing workers in custody of agencies: JSQM chief
By Our Correspondent
NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, June 13: The Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) Chairman Basheer Khan Qureshi has said that the government was not taking any notice of hundreds of missing Baloch and Sindhi nationalists who he claimed were in the custody of intelligence agencies.
Mr Qureshi said at a meeting on "why Sindh's nationalist workers go missing" at the press club on Tuesday night that torture, captivity at the agencies’ safe houses and implication in fake cases would not discourage the nationalists who were always ready to lay down their lives for the cause.
He said that his party would stage a 24-hour sit-in on the Therhi Bypass on June 24 and stop vehicles coming from and going to the Punjab to mount pressure on the authorities to release detained nationalists.
Sindh Sagar Party Chairman Azizullah Bohio said that Sindhi and Baloch people should keep their eyes open and realise the situation otherwise outsiders would occupy their land.
JSQM Vice-Chairman Niaz Kalani said that all the resources of Sindh were in the control of others and the situation called for struggle and sacrifices.
JSSF: Activists of Jeay Sindh Students Federation (JSSF) staged a rally on Wednesday, demanding release of political workers they said were picked up by agencies.
The participants of the rally reached the local press club where they staged a sit-in for half an hour.
They alleged that the agencies had picked up Dr Safdar Sarki and other missing nationalist leaders and demanded that the government should release them at the earliest.
RALLY: Activists of Pakistan Muslim League-N staged a rally on Wednesday in protest against the killing of their colleague Hashmat Bangash four days ago.
The rally started from the party’s office and terminated at the press club.
The protesters led by PML-N district president Manzoor Ahmed Mughal charged that police were not arresting the killers of their colleague and demanded their early arrest.
BOYCOTT: Lawyers in Naushahro Feroze, Moro, Kandiaro and Bhirya Road boycotted the court for an hour in protest against the presidential reference.
Lawyers in Naushahro Feroze also brought out a rally, which was led by DBA President Arbab Ali Chandio.
