OKARA, June 13: A brick kiln owner was shot dead by highwaymen on Tuesday night near Chak 14/IL. Kiln owners and brothers Zareef Khan and Mohabbat Khan were on their way to their village from Chak 14/IL by their motorcycle when two highwaymen intercepted them. They tried to snatch their valuables and motorcycle but the brothers put up resistance. The robbers opened fire on them. A bullet hit Zareef who died on the spot.

The robbers fled from the scene.

Police are investigating.

LOADSHEDDING: The people are braving hot and humid weather without electricity for more than 12 hours a day.

Electricity supply is suspended every alternate hour making the lives of the people miserable.
