CBR to be renamed
ISLAMABAD, June 11: The government has proposed to rename the Central Board of Revenue (CBR) as the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in order to ‘enhance its tax collection capacity’. Through the Finance Bill 2007, the change in nomenclature (FBR Act 2007) would be with immediate effect, replacing the name Central Board of Revenue. Under the new set-up, a cabinet committee for federal revenue will look after overall policies of the board.
