KARACHI, June 11: A number of labour organisations on Monday criticised the management of the PTCL for sacking the employees under the Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS) and appealed to the Supreme Court of Pakistan for taking a suo motu action in this regard.

Addressing a joint meeting held under the aegis of People’s Labour Bureau, the local representatives of Anti-Nijkari and Awami Haqooq Forum, KESC Workers Union, MCB Workers Union, People’s Labour Bureau PTCL Unit condemned the management’s move to sack employees without their consent.

They said thousand of employees were forced to resign and the union leaders were threatened of dire consequences if they raised voice for their rights.
