SFA chief blasts ex-PFF secretary

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, June 10: Sindh Football Association (SFA) chairman has lashed out at ex-secretary of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Arshad Lodhi, saying his removal from the post was according to FIFA regulations.

"Arshad is wrong in saying that his exit from PFF and Faisal Saleh Hayat’s re-election as PFF president was unconstitutional. None of the 21-member house raised hands in favour of Arshad Lodhi when the constitution was modified three months ago.

Even his Punjab Football Association's colleagues Malik Abdul Aziz and Abdul Rasheed did not him, opening the exit door for him," said Ghulam Abbas Baloch.

Arshad is engaged in a legal battle over his re-election as Punjab Football Association (PFA) chairman after a group headed by Tariq Cheema moved LHC against elections.

Abbas said baseless statements and false allegations against Faisal had tarnished the image of Pakistan football.

"The amendment to PFF constitution was done on March 3, 2007 in front of FIFA representative Mohsin Gilani and the house had no hesitation in approving it," he said, adding that Arshad had failed to deliver during his 25 years association with PFF.
