KARACHI: Two activists gunned down

KARACHI, June 9: The bullet-riddled bodies of two political activists belonging to different parties were found at separate places here on Saturday.

The body of a PML-N activist, identified as Hashmat Anwar, 30, was found in Quaidabad bearing gunshot wounds. A resident of Shah Faisal Colony, Hashmat had been kidnapped a day earlier by unknown persons. Police shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy but have yet to identify the culprits.

Meanwhile, an MQM activist was found dead at his residence in Nusrat Bhutto Colony. He was identified as Zaheer Abbas, 40, and was a member of the party’s medical aid committee. The body was sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy. The victim had received a bullet to the head, doctors said.

BODY FOUND: The body of a labourer, with his throat slit, was found at his house in Keamari on Saturday.

Police said that the man, identified as Shah Nawaz, 52, resident of Massan Road, might have been the victim of a personal enmity.
