KARACHI, June 9: President of the Karachi Goods Carriers Association Mohammad Khalid Khan on Saturday expressed his deep concern over the increasing incidents of robberies on highways, Northern Bypass and link roads, and urged the government to take remedial measures.
He pointed out that transporters had to pay compensation to their customers for the robbed consignments and the incessant robberies had inflicted heavy losses. He maintained that the losses were no longer affordable.
Mr Khan said that transporters were now considering a proposal that consignees be advised to get their consignments insured and submit any claim pertaining to robberies with the relevant insurance firm.—A Reporter
