Ex-DIG to file plea in SC

By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, June 6: Former DIG Operations Mirpurkhas, Rana Saleemullah Khan, on Wednesday pledged to file an application before the Supreme Court against government functionaries, containing details of government’s highhandedness and victimisation.

Although he didn't name any official, but in response to a question, he also didn't rule out mentioning name of Sindh chief minister in this application with some specific allegations.

“Yes I don't rule out mentioning name of Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim when I file the application before apex court”, ex-DIG told journalists in the premises of Sindh High Court Hyderabad circuit bench when asked whether in proposed application he would be mentioning name of Sindh chief minister for what he claimed his victimisation.

He said he was under obligation of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to file such an application because the apex court itself had asked him to submit such a plea before it if he wanted to raise question of his harassment.

Earlier, he told journalists that details of post-May 14 events would be mentioned in the application after he was arrested rather abducted from apex courts premises by Sanghar police. “When I was arrested I was still investigating Manu Bheel's case and didn't stand discharged from investigation of the case”, he said.

He recalled how he was taken to a house near Margalla Hills before being airlifted in a jet to Karachi and subsequently shifted to Mirpurkhas via Nawabshah. “I hope truth will triumph, an elated former DIG said as he came out of courtroom after being enlarged on bail.

He expressed the hope that government would not institute any false charge against him because this house of cards of lies would now fall but didn't rule out his implication in any other case as well.

He accused police officers of perjury on the ground that they were also present in court on May 14 headed by Justice Javed Iqbal. “Its contempt of court on the part of police officers, including DPO Ajmal Magsi.

‘‘I had gone to court to submit application regarding my harassment but the file was lying in car and when I was picked-up the file was taken away by some police officer”, he remarked.

He said he would file fresh application in which more details would be added by him ever since his arrest on May 14. “These facts could not be kept hidden. Should I go and take sleeping pill and take rest”, he said.

He complained about non-provision of medical facilities in jail because his tests were not got done. “I had been performing my duty with honesty and team that was working under me is made to work against me” he said with an oblique reference to DPO Sanghar Ajmal Magsi, who he believed was instrumental in putting up Ameerio Bheel to lodge false FIR with Khipro police.
