KARACHI, June 6: Four ships carrying containers, chemicals, diesel oil and iron ore were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, another container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy was maintained at 70 per cent as seven ships, Maersk Georgia, Nedlloyd America, Tarpon Santiago, Nordans, Yansaseni, Difko Susanne and Capt. George-L, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, fertiliser, chemicals, diesel oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 78,447 tons comprising 70,674 tons of import and 7,773 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was slow as only one vessel, Maersk George-L, left the port while Anvil Points was due to depart.
