KARACHI: Retrenchment move

KARACHI, June 5: Condemning the PTCL for its move to sack 33,000 employees under the Voluntarily Separation Scheme (VSS), a joint meeting of workers unions decided to launch a protest movement against the retrenchment process.

The meeting, chaired by Mohammad Latif Qureshi, was attended by members of the Pakistan Telecommunication Lion’s Unity, Labour Alliance, Pakistan Telecommunication Workers Ittehad and Lion Staff Union as well as coalition unions.

A committee was also formed to chalk out series of protests against the PTCL management.
