KARACHI: PPP seeks workers’ release

KARACHI, June 5: The Pakistan People’s Party in a meeting held on Tuesday condemned the arrests of the workers of opposition parties in Punjab and demanded their immediate release.

The PPP leaders noted that the government had given freedom to terrorists, extremists and armed ethnic organisations while the political workers, who were raising voice for the supremacy of law, were being put behind bars.

The meeting observed that the rulers were pitting national institutions against each other to prolong their rule.

The meeting was attended by Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Nisar Ahmad Khuhro, Aftab Sha’aban Mirani, Naheed Khan, Dr Safdar Abbasi, Manzoor Wasan, Jameel Soomro, Agha Siraj Durrani, Mir Aijaz Jakhrani Anwar Bhutto, Ayaz Soomro, Khalid Iqbal Memon and Munawar Abassi.
