LONDON, June 4: The newly formed May 12 Group has offered Imran Khan all help in his efforts to file cases against MQM chief Altaf Hussain in the UK. The group assured Imran that it would make arrangements for his lectures on the MQM issue at the London School of Economics and Oxford.
At an hour-long meeting held at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) between prominent members of the group and the visiting senior office-bearers of Tehrik-e-Insaf, on Monday it was decided that the two would closely cooperate and coordinate in their efforts to take Altaf Hussain to court in the UK.
The Tehrik team included its additional secretary general Vice-Admiral (retd) Jawaid Iqbal and secretary information Punjab Omar Cheema and the group was represented by Dr Nadeem, Nadir Cheema, Taimur Rashid and Omar Warriach.
On Sunday evening Iram Khan addressed a meeting of about 1200 people at Illford. Imran told the rally that he considered the MQM a fascist party.
He said his legal team was gathering documentary proof and witnesses for filing a case against Altaf Hussain in the UK courts.
