KARACHI: Syed Shamim passes away


KARACHI, June 4: Noted scientist and expert of theoretical chemistry Prof Syed Shamim Ahmed died on Sunday night. Prof Shamim had a distinction in theoretical chemistry, especially transfer of electrons. He was among the youngest teachers of Aligarah University and participated in the annual meetings of the Indian Science Congress. He was also the founder of the Anjuman Taraqi Science. After partition, he migrated to Pakistan and joined Karachi University.

Vice-Chancellor of University of Karachi Dr Pirzada Qasim on Monday condoled the death with the bereaved family. — PPI
