KARACHI, June 3: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that the volume of the provincial budget 2007-08 may exceed Rs200 billion.
In the budget, being presented on June 15, priority would be given to development and basic amenities, with particular emphasis being on clean drinking water, education, health and road communication.
In the outgoing financial year, Rs32 billion were given to districts under the head of development while the amount in the upcoming budget may be raised up to Rs45-50 billion, according to sources.
This would be a welfare-oriented budget and would include the schemes which could not be implemented in the outgoing financial year. — Staff Reporter
