MITHI: MQM, Sindh govt blamed for May 12 killings

By Our Correspondent

MITHI, June 2: Activists of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have accused the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Sindh government of being responsible for killings in Karachi on May 12 and demanded registration of murder cases against them.

Speaking at a party meeting held on Saturday, President of PPP Tharparkar, Mahesh Kumar Malani, alleged that the present government has miserably failed to come up to the expectations of masses.

Inflation, unemployment and poverty have attained an alarming proportion, while the rulers were busy in accumulation of wealth instead of serving the people.

“Corruption has shot up to an unprecedented magnitude, particularly in Tharparkar, where substandard material is being used in construction works by the blue eyed contractors of the ‘heavy weights’ of Sindh government with the NAB and anti-corruption officials playing the role of silent spectator”, Mr Malani said.

“Recently a kutchehry hall of historical importance was demolished only to build a shopping centre at the same site, he further alleged.
