LDHA outlines activity calendar

LAHORE, May 31: The Lahore District Hockey Association (LDHA) will hold eight competitions by the end of this year. President LDHA Khalid Rasool said on Thursday.

He said the initial programme would start on from Friday beginning with the Lahore District Hockey championship. In all, 19 clubs would participate. He said a coaching clinic would also be organised from June 10.

Model Town Invitation tournament (2nd week of June), Lahore Challenge Cup (in July), Jashan-e-Azadi Exhibition match (Aug 14), Amanat Ali Bokhari (Sept/Oct), trials for India tour of Under-18 team (Sept/Oct), Jaffar Memorial tournament (Oct/Nov) and an exhibition match (Dec 25) are other activities.

He said the LDHA had elected Mohammad Shafique Bhatti as new secretary in place of Mohammad Hasnain.
