Security forces raided Bugti fort: JWP chief

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, May 31: Chief of the Jamhoori Watan Party Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti accused the security forces of having raided his family’s fort in the Garhi area in Jaffarabad district and claimed they had seized dozens of Kalashnikov rifles, valuable items, a million rupees in cash. He said they had also impounded a Mazda truck.

Addressing a press conference at the Bugti House here on Wednesday, he said that the Tuesday’s killing and Wednesday’s raid was part of a concerted campaign aimed at forcing his family to bow down. He said oppressors were arming a section of the Bugtis who were notorious criminals. Nawabzada Talal claimed that about 100 armoured vehicles, including artillery pieces, had been deployed near his residence in Garhi.
