Four die in separate incidents

Dawn Report

ISLAMABAD, May 30: Four persons died in separate incidents while a body was found on Wednesday, police said. In the first incident, a woman was killed and six others injured when a cylinder fixed in a taxi exploded at a gas station in Tench Bhatta.

Bani Amin, the owner of the taxi (RIG-1474), was getting his cylinder filled at a gas station when it exploded, killing his mother-in-law Ghulam Sakeena on the spot and injuring him, his wife, his two sons and two employees of the filling station.

In another incident, two persons were killed in a head-on collision between two vehicles near Tramri Chowk.

Shafqat Saleem and Salik were travelling in their pickup (LHB-7711) when it collided with a van driven by Mohammad Tariq (GF-806).

The injured were shifted to Federal Government Services Hospital where Shafqat and Salik died while Tariq is stated to be in stable condition.

In the third incident, a taxi driver, Mohammad Sidique, a resident of Bhara Kahu, suffered multiple injuries when a vehicle (LES-2695) hit his car (RIT-619) that was parked at a roadside near Kashmir Chowk.

He was shifted to a nearby hospital where he died. The driver of the other vehicle managed to escape.

The police said both incidents occurred due to reckless driving.

Meanwhile, a man, who had come to attend the Bari Imam Urs from Mandi Bahauddin, was found dead in Islamabad.

Some passers-by stumbled upon the body in a green area in Shakarparian and informed the police. The police reached the spot and shifted the body to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for legal process.

The deceased was identified as Fayazullah who appears to be in his 30s. Preliminary investigation suggested that he had been strangled about four to five days ago.

The police said Fayazullah had come to Islamabad along with his friends to attend the Urs. The motive behind the murders is yet to be ascertained, the police said, adding that they had contacted his family who were on their way to the federal capital.

In light of their statement the police will start investigation.
