Local players to get emolument

ISLAMABAD, May 30: The cricketers playing in the domestic first-class season of the country will each be paid an annual emolument of Rs 150,000 to Rs 200,000 in order to strengthen the inter-region competition.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would also raise the standard of the game by bolstering the inter-district, inter-club and school-level cricket too, board’s Chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf said.

“All the 20 players of a team playing in the domestic first-class competition would each get between Rs150,000 and Rs200,000 so that they could concentrate on improving their game without financial worries,” he stated, adding that the PCB would also introduce a new domestic cricket structure after developing a consensus with all the stakeholders.—APP
