Doctors denied bail

LAHORE, May 30: A judicial magistrate on Wednesday rejected bail applications of Dr Masood and Dr Rafique Zaki of Masood Hospital, Dr Shafiq and Dr Omer of Al Shaafi Hospital, Dr Rehmat Ali, Dr Rana Amjad of the Rashid Hospital and Sabir Hussain a telephone operator of Al-Rashid Hospital for their alleged involved in kidney trade.

According to the prosecution, the Factory Area police raided Masood Hospital, Rashid Hospital and Al Shaafi Hospital and arrested seven people, including two doctors and two guards, for selling kidneys.

A judicial magistrate on May 26 ordered to send six accused, Dr Masood, Dr Zaki, Dr Shafiq, Dr Omer, Dr Humayun Rashid to jail till June 6.
