LAKKI MARWAT, May 30: Several development projects for the next year’s Annual Development Programme for the Lakki Marwat Frontier Region were discussed at a meeting here on Wednesday.

The proposed projects include establishment of a degree college, mothers’ and children’s health centres and community health centres; upgrading basic health units; construction of flood protection dykes, wells, ponds and delay action dams and installing tubewells.

The meeting presided over by District Coordination Officer Amer Latif was informed that schemes for setting up of veterinary dispensaries, mobile veterinary units and breeding of goats and sheep under private-public partnership had been proposed for the programme.

The communications and works department had proposed construction of 30km of roads, a bachelors’ hostel and a sports stadium, while the agriculture and forest departments had also recommended several projects to provide job opportunities to local people.

APP adds: District Nazim Humayun Saifullah Khan on Wednesday inaugurated the newly constructed Farm Services Complex.
