KARACHI, May 30: Berthing was brisk as four ships to load/offload containers, edible oil and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

In the meantime, three more ships carrying containers and fertiliser also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Grasemere Maersk, Nedlloyed Oceana, Gemini, Barents Wind, Warbah, Chemstar Moon, Chem Rose and Oinoussain Lion, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, diesel oil, chemicals and coal.

A cargo volume of 50,289 tons comprising 40,036 tons of import and 10,253 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was also brisk as Grasmere Maersk, Nedloyed Oceana, Warbah, Chem Rose and Chemsar Moon left the port.
