HYDERABAD, May 28: The PML is not in a position to win even a single seat of councillor in Hyderabad, let alone national or provincial assembly seats. This was stated by Latifabad taluka organiser of the PML, Abdul Qadeer Khanzada during a news conference, on Monday.
This was due to wrong policies adopted by district president Mir Sher Mohammad Talpur and general secretary Qari Mushtaq Farooqui, he added.
Khanzada announced his resignation from the post and basic membership in protest against the policies and in support of senior leaders S.M. Ilyas and Mehboob Junejo who resigned from the party few days back.
He said the workers were real asset of any party but the two leaders caused the loss of two members due to their policies.
He said provincial president and Sindh’s Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim had been striving hard to make the PML-Q a party of masses. He wanted to strengthen it in Hyderabad but the said group had pushed it against the wall.
Khanzada said following the resignation of S.M. Ilyas, many workers became disgruntled and have begun quitting one after another, pushing the situation to such an extent where the ruling party cannot win even a single seat of UC councillor what to say of national or provincial assembly.
Khanzada, along with hundreds of colleagues tendered resignation from party’s membership. He further said that at least 3,000 workers had left the party.
