KARACHI: Man shot dead

KARACHI, May 28: A man who had withdrawn cash from a bank branch in the Jamshed Quarters police limits was shot at and he died after his car went of out control and hit a tree on Monday.

Police said Shamim Ahmed, 32, was heading back to office after withdrawing the cash when unknown armed suspects followed him, and as he tried to speed away, they shot at him. Police said that after suffering the gunshot he lost control of his car, which rammed into a tree, killing him on the spot.

In another incident, a 35-year old man was shot dead by unknown persons in the Ibrahim Hyderi police limits on Monday.

Police said Shamim Ahmed, 35, resident of Bilal Colony, was riding his motorcycle when unknown persons traveling in a car fired gunshots at him before fleeing.

Police said the victim died before he could be taken to a hospital. Police could not come up with the motive behind the killing.
