MQM’s drive against PPP slammed

LAHORE, May 27: Punjab PPP Information Secretary Farzana Raja has slammed the MQM for launching a campaign against the PPP to implicate it in the May 12 killings in Karachi.

In a press statement on Sunday, she said the MQM was diverting public attention from the tragic incident.

She said the MQM was being held responsible by national and international press and civil society for its active role in the bloodshed.

The PPP leader said the City District Government Karachi had used its official powers and blocked all important routes of the city to restrict people’s movement.

The MQM, she said, had once again proved itself as a regional party. Many office-bearers and members of the MQM had quit the party after the May 12 tragedy. —Staff Reporter
