Teachers to stage sit-in outside Parliament

RAWALPINDI, May 27: The Mutahidda Muhaz Teachers on Sunday announced that thousands of teachers from all over the country including Azad Kashmir and FATA would stage sit-in on Monday outside the Parliament House if their demands were not met.

This was announced here on Sunday by Chief of Mutahidda Muhaz Teachers Pakistan and President Government Teachers Association Balochistan, Haji Abdul Ghaffar Khan Kadozai and other office bearers while addressing a gathering of teachers, who came from various parts of the country, at Rawalpindi Railways Station. Ghaffar said in 2005 when teachers from across the country started strikes to press for their just demands, the Prime Minister had assured them that their demands would be fulfilled if they end the strike. Later, he said a committee had also been constituted to solve the teacher’s problems, but it did nothing.—PPI
